Santa is very concerned with privacy and security!
He runs a global operation, after all!
Secret Santa won't ever share your information with anyone else.
He's also added a lot of privacy and security controls so that even Administrators won't know your details:
- Passwords are protected using the latest security features, and one-way encryption
- Security answers are uniquely* one-way encrypted,k so they can never be decrypted
- Greetings are uniquely* encrypted
- Even hints for security answers are scrambled
- Only members of your group can see any of your details
- Usernames and e-mail addresses are scrambled in the database, so that e-mail addresses can't be misused
- Unless you use your e-mail address as your Username, it is only visible to group administrators, current partners, and potential partners you suggest
- The only cookie this site uses is the one that keeps you logged in when you're using it
If you do add your e-mail address to your account, it will only be used to tell you about things you actually need to know.
Measures are in place to prevent malicious users from joining groups of people they don't know (see the FAQs page).
If you ever want to leave the system, you can 'Close Your Account' , and all of your identifiable personal data will be removed.
*Unique encryption means that even two users with the same value will have different encrypted versions.
